In 1996, Lynch co-founded Autonomy Corporation, a software company specializing in enterprise search and knowledge management. Autonomy’s technology, based on Bayesian inference, allowed businesses to search and analyze large volumes of unstructured data. This innovation positioned Autonomy as a leader in the tech industry, and Lynch as a visionary entrepreneur.


Acquisition by Hewlett-Packard


Autonomy’s success caught the attention of Hewlett-Packard (HP), leading to its acquisition in 2011 for $11 billion. This deal was one of the largest in the tech industry at the time.
